Final days of Texas Mini Vacation, Mustang Island & Drive north

Took evening walks east on the beach. No one around, so we had the entire beach to ourselves! Easy walking on the packed sand. Very very windy with waves crashing constantly. In the high 80's, but the wind off the ocean kept us cool.
We have certainly enjoyed our time here and if time ever allows, I'd be happy to come & stay here again. It would be nicer to stay at one of the spaces on the end that have sewer. I'll remember that if we ever come back or if anyone else asks for advice. But overall, this has been pleasant & we managed to stay the week without having to move up to the dump. But it's time to move on to our pad.
The drive was easily done, just long (especially for the driver!). The only thing of consequence was all the swarms of Love Bugs. Our windshield was covered. George had to clean them off several times. We finally got away from them as we passed by Lufkin. The weather was fine & we didn't even run into much traffic as we navigated through Houston. Winds died down as we got away from the coast.
Patrick had mowed & weedeated around our pad & pond & it looked lovely! We are happy to be here for a time!! George is even putting up our bird seed tubes & hummingbird feeders already!!! More soon!
