Mesquite Tree Trail walk -
Last evening at Lake Casa Blanca International State Park
- 4 May 2022
Nice relaxing day, we took off for a nice walk on the Mesquite Tree Trail about 6:45pm. It was a very pleasant walk. Only about 3 1/2 miles round trip, not a loop, just out & back. Saw lots of birds, but couldn't identify most of them. I definitely id'd a pair of Northern Cardinals. There were several that I believe were Bullock's Orioles and then just as we got off of the trail & back on the main road back to our RV, we spotted a female Ladder-back Woodpecker. Thrilled to see a deer also. I got the picture of the deer, but the bird pictures are compliments of eBird! We have enjoyed our relaxing days here at this small state park. Tomorrow we're off to Mustang Island State Park, near Corpus Christi. Spending a week there.
