Antarctic Adventure #6, Bariloche to Buenos Aires

Bariloche to Buenos Aires -Wednesday, 18 December 2019

Had a really early morning - had to have luggage out by 6:50am and down for breakfast by 7am.  There was a beautiful rainbow lighting up the mountains across the lake.

We were checked out of the hotel & on the bus by 8am.  It was another beautiful day & the lake was amazing from the air.  Easy flight, about 3 hours.

We headed from the domestic airport to the same hotel & this time we got an amazing suite.  Apparently they really hadn't planned on using this one because it was in the North Tower that was being renovated.  We had to take a strange convoluted round about way to get there, down 2 levels from the lobby, then across to another bank of elevators & up to our room on the 12th floor.  It was not facing the main street, so it was much quieter.  Only get 2 nights here, but certainly enjoying them!

The rest of our team arrived (Marlyn & Michele and Rich & Georgianne), but they were pretty wiped out, so we didn't try to get together until the 5pm Welcome Briefing from Maria.  She gave us an overview of the next couple of days - Buenos Aires tomorrow, then fly to Ushuaia the following morning.

Dinner was not included for this first evening, so several of us followed Maria down to a local restaurant & started the process of getting to know each other!  We enjoyed our first toast together!
The walk back to the hotel showed us that even on a Wednesday night, this area was packed with folks out & about - enoying the lovely clear skies & warm temperatures. The Oblilisk looked beautiful with it's changing colored lights. We all split up to our respective rooms for an early night!
